First Ireland Skills Live Event' Attracts Huge Industry Interest
The first Ireland Skills Live event to be held in the RDS Simonscourt next March is proving very popular. Four of the five of primary sponsor places have been snapped up by John Sisk & Son, CIF, Designer Group and Solas.
Sisk are also a construction category sponsor along with Bus Eireann/Dublin Bus in transport and aviation, leaving four opportunities vacant. The 12 competition sponsor categories also see SISK & son present along with industry names like Aer Lingus, Crown Paints, Errigal Contracts, Lincoln Engineering, Fagor Catering Equipment, King & Moffat, Jones Engineering and the Chefs Network. There are still some sponsorship opportunities in the competition category. The Higher Education Authority will continue to support the national competitions within Ireland Skills Live 2019. The three day event, to be held next March 21-23 is the first showcase of Irish trades and skills, featuring live competitions, demonstrations, a heroes stage and recruitment zone. The event still has some opportunities available, but potential sponsors are urged to act quickly as spaces are going fast. Interested parties should contact Eventhaus.ie. Tens of thousands of Irish school students, teachers and parents are expected to attend Ireland Skills Live from March 21 to 23. Independent.ie is the media partner of the three day event. The Minister for Education Joe McHugh TD has welcomed the positive response from Irish education and industry; “This new vibrant event will completely modernise the apprenticeship, bringing it into the 21st century and public consciousness,” Minister McHugh said. “It is so important to engage not just with the students but also their parents and teachers; Ireland Skills Live will afford that perfect opportunity and it will offer real alternatives and life choices to students. We are confident that this event will inform and inspire young people to look differently at apprenticeships when considering their future careers.” Tom Parlon of the Construction Industry Federation commented; “Apprentices are essential to the sustainability of the construction industry. Many of today’s industry leaders have come through an apprenticeship and now lead global companies. Hundreds of managers and thousands of our workers have also come through the system over the history of the industry. We are delighted to be a primary sponsor of what is considered the Olympics of apprenticeships.” Michael Stone MD of the Designer Group echoed the support of the other anchor sponsors.
