Just two Master Distillers have had the privilege of preserving the legacy of the world’s most sought-after Irish whiskey. Created in 1984 by Master Distiller Emeritus Barry Crockett, Midleton Very Rare is the ultimate expression of his art and expertise. Once a year, Master Distiller, Brian Nation honours Barry’s vision by handpicking the finest and rarest whiskeys available and carefully blends them to create each annual vintage of Midleton Very Rare. Only a select number of casks are deemed of sufficient excellence and rarity to bear the Midleton Very Rare name, making this the pinnacle of Irish whiskey. This Midleton Very Rare single cask whiskey will be a worthy addition to Adare Manor’s rare collection from around the world.

Details on the Cask:
Adare Manor’s Midleton Very Rare whiskey is a single cask Irish whiskey, which was laid down to mature on the 12th of January 1995 in an American oak barrel that previously held Bourbon whiskey. A single pot still Irish whiskey, the distillate was crafted from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and distilled three times in Midleton’s copper pot stills – a process that creates a silky mouthfeel and imparts a spicy character to the finish. After 23 years in the maturation warehouse, carefully overseen by the craftsmen of Midleton, the result is a smooth and complex Irish whiskey with notes of sandalwood, dark chocolate and zesty fruits, which is bottled at 52.5% ABV. The whiskey is available exclusively from Adare Manor at RRP €2,000.
