Aer Lingus Revealed As An Airline Partner of The X Factor 2018


Ireland’s only 4-star airline, Aer Lingus, has been revealed as an official Airline Partner of The X Factor 2018 in a deal which sees the airline appear on the prime-time TV talent show which sees aspiring singers compete to win a major recording contract

Kicking off the airline’s appearance on the hit show, Aer Lingus flew the ‘Girls’, ‘Groups’ and ‘Overs’ to the judges’ houses in style and comfort. As revealed in the first judges’ houses show, the Girls group flew from London to Los Angeles in California, via Aer Lingus’ direct Dublin to LAX route. Once there, they performed to try and secure a place in the live shows, which begin later this month.

Aer Lingus currently flies direct to 13 destinations in North America, offering a seamless connection from Ireland to the USA and Canada. It recently announced two new destinations: Montréal in Canada and Minneapolis-St. Paul which will commence in summer 2019, bringing the total number of direct transatlantic destinations served by Aer Lingus to 15.

Filming for the show took place at Heathrow’s Terminal 2, and included contestants checking-in for their flights, inside the exclusive Aer Lingus business class lounge and on board in the airline’s stylish Business Class cabins.

Aer Lingus check-in agents and cabin crew also appeared on the show, revealing to the excited contestants where they would be flying, before leaving them to relax in comfort until they appeared at their final destination to perform before the judges.

The X Factor contestants’ destination for the popular jJudges’ houses episodes are revealed on the judges houses episodes. The first of these episodes appeared on Virgin Media One at 8pm on Sunday, 7 October. The second and third judges’ houses episodes will be broadcast next weekend on Saturday, 13 October and Sunday 14 October.

Guests flying with Aer Lingus from Ireland to North America, have the opportunity to pre-clear US immigration and customs before stepping on board their transatlantic flight which avoids any length queues upon arrival stateside. Also offered to guests flying with Aer Lingus on long-haul routes are a generous 23kg baggage allowance (Smart Fare), complimentary on-board meals, and 120-hours of the very best in-flight entertainment.

Last month, the airline revealed it was to offer those flying in Economy Class a complimentary glass of wine or beer with their in-flight dining and provide 20MB of free Wi-Fi.

Guests flying in Business Class can enjoy lounge access, fine wines, champagne and luxury cuisine as part of their flying experience, as well as being able to relax on fully flat beds throughout their flight.

The complimentary baggage allowance enables each guest to check-in three bags, weighing a combined allowance of 69kg.
