The Dublin market continues to perform strongly for Dalata and in addition to today’s opening, the Group currently have 545 rooms in the pipeline for the capital.
Maldron Kevin Street is the second of the brand’s hotels to open in Ireland this year, with the Maldron Belfast City opening its doors in March, and a 163 bedroom Maldron Hotel due to open in South Mall Cork in December. In addition, the Group continues its exciting expansion in the UK with a 265 bedroom Maldron Hotel due to open in Newcastle in December and a 212 bedroom Clayton Hotel due to open in Aldgate, London in the same month.
Pat McCann, CEO of Dalata Hotel Group, commented at the event: “We are delighted to officially open our Maldron Hotel on Kevin Street this afternoon and I would especially like to welcome Minister Murphy and thank him for taking the time to be part of today’s event.
This hotel, situated in an exciting and vibrant part of the city is an excellent addition to our Dublin portfolio and strengthens our position as market leader. As the Irish economy continues to grow, and with domestic and inbound tourism numbers expected to increase, our pipeline of rooms in both Dublin, and regional Ireland, means that we are well placed to cater for that growth. The opening of this hotel has resulted in the creation of over 70 jobs with an investment of €26 million in the local area. We are enthusiastic about the prospects for this hotel and we look forward to partnering with our neighbours over the coming years.”
