Conrad Dublin Introduces Ireland's First Dedicated Hotel Staff Gym

It’s common knowledge that recruitment in the Irish Hospitality Industry is challenging. Sometimes hiring people is easy, but keeping them is another issue. Research shows that fitness in the workplace can reduce absenteeism, give greater job satisfaction, reduces stress, can cut health care costs, increase brain power, encourages team building, and helps to motivate and retain employees.

With this in mind, Conrad Dublin has just introduced a staff only fully equipped onsite gym, available from 6.30am-10pm daily with room to adjust if required. The facilities include: free weights area, cardio equipment, multi-purpose use pulley rack, Olympic power cage with Olympic bar and disks, gym style rubber floor automatic A/C, cold water dispenser, towels and cleaning wipes. Presently, they are looking into hosting a series of fitness classes, based on staff requests and interest.

“It is important to invest in your staff, develop their interests with the hope of increasing their wellbeing in the workplace. This is just one of the many initiatives we have implemented with many more coming on-stream over the next few months as part of Thrive@Hilton, a new framework focused on enabling our Team Members to grow and flourish in Body, Mind and Spirit” said Martin Mangan, General Manager.
