Top Qatari Travel Blogger Visits Ireland

A popular Qatari travel and lifestyle blogger is visiting Ireland this week – as a guest of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, Qatar Airways and InterContinental Dublin.

Blogger Abdulaziz Al Jail will be sharing details of his travels here with his more than 80,000 followers on Instagram and on his YouTube channel. His action-packed itinerary includes some retail therapy in Brown Thomas and Kildare Village, as well as some of our top attractions like the Chester Beatty Library, the Irish National Stud and Kilruddery House. According to Tourism Ireland, we welcomed around 71,000 visitors from the Middle East to Ireland in 2017. Among the GCC countries, Qatar is a growing market for Irish tourism and this received a significant boost last year, when Qatar Airways launched a new flight between Doha and Dublin. Our world-class horse-racing and golf, as well as screen tourism – and, in particular, our connections with Star Wars and Game of Thrones – have helped raise the profile of the island of Ireland in the GCC in recent years. Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Asia & Middle East, said: “Blogs and social media are recognised as strong influencers on prospective holidaymakers, so Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite Abdulaziz Al Jail to visit Ireland. He’ll be documenting his visit online – sharing lots of great photos and content and inspiring his readers and followers to come and discover Ireland for themselves. “As an island destination, we know that convenient, direct flights are critical to growing inbound tourism, so the Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin is certainly good news for Irish tourism, expanding travel options for holidaymakers and business travellers from Qatar and the Middle East wishing to visit Ireland. We look forward to continued strong co-operation with Qatar Airways, to highlight ease of access to Ireland.” PIC SHOWS: Blogger Abdulaziz Al Jail at Powerscourt Gardens in Enniskerry.
