Subway® Unveils First Fresh Forward Store In Ireland At Midway Foodcourt, Co. Laois

The Subway® brand today announced the refurbishment of its Midway Foodcourt store, making it the first store in Ireland to be redesigned with the new Fresh Forward branding. The revamp brings with it an additional 3 jobs for Laois, with the total number of jobs at the store now at 13 following the refurbishment, bringing further investment to the area by the Subway® brand and Applegreen.

The Midway Foodcourt store, run by Applegreen, is the first Subway® store in the Republic of Ireland to introduce the new design. The Subway® brand’s Fresh Forward redesign will transform every aspect of the customer experience, inspired by a bright new colour palette and fresh vegetables, with whole tomatoes, green peppers, onions and cucumbers on display to create a distinctive sensory experience. The design has been brought to life with input from franchisees and customers around the world.

Since the first Irish store opened in 1994, Subway® franchisees have been serving up a wide range of Subs with great taste and value, all freshly made to order in store. The new Fresh Forward design is the next phase of the Subway® brand’s evolution in Ireland. With regular meal deals and the addition of new products, the Subway® brand is growing in popularity by providing meals to suit all tastes, and Fresh Forward will continue to enhance the customer experience at Subway® stores in Ireland.

Commenting on the redesign, Adam Heyes, Managing Director of Subway® Development Ireland said, “We’ve created a modern design that gives our customers choices – from how they order and pick up their food to how they enjoy their meal. The reactions from our customers, our franchisees and our Sandwich Artists™ have been incredibly positive.”

Speaking at the redesign unveiling, Padraig Fleming, Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council said “I am delighted to help launch the refurbished Subway® store at the Midway Food Court. At Laois County Council, we love to see local businesses investing in Laois and increasing employment. We are delighted to be associated with this development and the quality food at Subway®, and we wish Subway® every success with their new store.”

Annette Dwyer, manager of the Midway Foodcourt Subway® store, added, “We are delighted to be the first Subway® store to introduce the new Fresh Forward design. Our staff work hard every day to provide a quality service to our customers and to operate a store that we can all be proud of, and we are excited for our customers to experience the new design.”

Highlights of the new Fresh Forward design include:

  • Digital: Digital menu boards and, as always, Apple and Samsung Pay options. Guests enjoy a speedy Subway® brand experience.

  • Food: Fresh veggie display with whole tomatoes, green peppers, onions and cucumbers, plus new bread and cookie displays on the front of the line.
