Memoirs, Food And Wine Break At Harvey’s Point

A surge of interest in creative writing is evident throughout the country with memoir writing a focus for many authors.

The art of researching and creating a compelling memoir is the subject of the 2018 Creative Writing Break at Harvey’s Point Hotel, Lough Eske, Donegal from Monday 16th to Wednesday 18th April and it will be combined with a cookery demonstration and wine tasting as well as the unique ‘Harvey’s Point Experience’.

Devised the led by author Frank Corr, the three day break will include tutorials on memoir writing, discussions on current projects and creative writing opportunities.The author of ten books, including several memoirs, Frank Corr has a distinguished career as a journalist and editor and had been leading the Harvey’s Point Creative Writing workshops since 2014.

This year’s event, called Memoirs are Made of This will be of special interest to writers who are researching personal or family memoirs as well as all those engaged in creative writing. The workshop sessions will be augmented by a country walk to the Famine Pot, lively discussions over dinner, a special cookery demonstration and wine-tasting.

Guests will be accommodated in The Lodge @ Harvey’s Point and the package includes two night accommodation, breakfast served in the Lakeside Restaurant and dinner each evening in the hotel’s two AA star restaurant.

Rates are from €249 per person sharing and €299 for single occupancy.
