A group of almost 20 top UK Inbound travel organisers are in Ireland this week meeting with almost 60 Irish operators to find out what Ireland can offer their customers in the months ahead. The meetings are taking place at the Radisson Blu, Sligo today at one of Fáilte Ireland’s annual sales workshops which is organised in conjunction with Tourism Ireland. As well as attracting more visitors into Ireland the workshop is designed to provide Irish businesses with a time and cost effective opportunity to sell their offering to a number of to a number of interested and influential travel organisers at a series of one-to-one sales meetings.

Speaking at the workshop, Ciara Sugrue, Head of Trade and Promotions, Fáilte Ireland said:“These influential tour operators represent a great opportunity for Ireland to attract more tourists from some of our key overseas markets. The recent drop in Sterling has made the UK an attractive destination for many overseas visitors and by targeting these operators we can ensure that Ireland has the chance to reap some of these benefits.”

To further showcase what Ireland can truly offer, Fáilte Ireland also put together a bespoke itinerary getting the travel agents get out and about in counties Donegal, Sligo, Roscommon and Meath, to get an authentic taste of what an Irish holiday can offer. These trips provide a great opportunity for overseas operators to gain an authentic experience of Ireland which will play a key role in persuading these agents to choose Ireland as a holiday destination for their customers.
