Ms. Janice McConnell has been appointed General Manager of the Midleton Park Hotel, with

responsibility for the overall running and success of the hotel. The Midleton Park Hotel, which has recently been awarded its four-star status, is part of the Talbot Collection. The hotel boasts 79 superbly appointed modern bedrooms, bar, restaurant, extensive conference & banqueting facilities as well as a hugely popular Leisure club.

Ms. McConnell held the role of Sales & Marketing Manager of the Oriel House Hotel for 12 years, with the Talbot Collection taking over the Oriel House in January 2016. During this time Janice was responsible for developing and delivering consistent strategic plans including budget planning for the hotel both in the international and national marketplaces.

Ms. McConnells’ previous experience includes over 17 years of expertise in hospitality sector including a selection of Managerial roles within Jurys Doyle Group plc., during which time she focused on business development, marketing plans and was a member of senior management teams with roles including training and mentoring. This wealth of experience, teamed with her excellent communication and motivational skills and hands on approach, made Janice the perfect candidate to take the reins as General Manager of the Midleton Park Hotel. Janice holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies & Hotel Management from the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology & Higher Diploma, CIPD from UCC

Ms Amy Horgan has been appointed as Area Sales & Marketing Manager of the two Cork four-star Talbot Collection hotels, the Oriel House Hotel & Leisure Club and Midleton Park Hotel. In her new role Ms. Horgan is responsible for the business development, digital and social media marketing and sales strategies for both hotels.

Ms Horgan joined the team at the Midleton Park Hotel as Sales & Marketing Executive in 2012 and was quickly promoted to Sales & Marketing Manager in 2013. As a result of her proven success heading up the Sales & Marketing department at the Midleton Park Hotel the Talbot Collection made the decision to appoint Amy as the area manager for the two Cork hotels in their collection.

Since Ms Horgan’s appointment in May she has been able to amalgamate the sales and marketing department in both hotels and leverage one property off the other. By grouping both hotels and utilising the strengths of each of the individual venues, in this short six-month period there has been a huge increase in referral business.

Ms Horgan has also noted a growth in revenue which can be tracked directly back to her digital campaigns for each hotel. Amy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Cork Institute of Technology, and a Masters in Marketing from the National University of Ireland Galway. In August, Ms Horgan also completed a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing with the Digital Marketing Institute.

Ms Horgan is a member of the Executive Committee for Social Media for the Midleton & Area Chamber.
