Deliveroo To Add 250 New Riders Across Ireland As The Company Grows At Speed

Deliveroo is at an exciting growth phase and is today announcing that it will create work for 250 new riders to service growing demand in Dublin, Belfast and Cork. Rider recruitment days will take place in the coming weeks. This builds on recent rapid growth across Ireland in the past year. Deliveroo now works with 861 riders in Ireland - up 33% in the last 12 months. Growth in restaurants is equally positive - Deliveroo now partners with 567 restaurants across Ireland, which represents a 54% increase in the number of restaurants Deliveroo works with in the last 12 months.

Deliveroo launched in Dublin in 2015 and has since then expanded rapidly across Cork, Galway, Belfast and Limerick.

This growth is driven by the well paid, flexible work Deliveroo offers. An exclusive survey of riders in Ireland reveals that flexibility is the No.1 reason why riders choose to work with Deliveroo:

● 80% of riders say flexibility is the benefit of riding with Deliveroo they value the most

● 70% of riders prefer the new Fee Per Delivery arrangement, citing better flexibility and an ability to fit work around their life rather than life around their work

● 50% of riders choose to work with Deliveroo as a side-line to another main job

● Overall rider satisfaction is high, with 84% stating they’re happy or very happy to work with Deliveroo and 87% saying they would recommend to friends and family to work with Deliveroo

Commenting on the findings Liam Keenan, General Manager of Deliveroo Ireland, said:

“Our riders are the lifeblood of our business, and it’s great to be in a position to grow our community today with a call out for new riders to come work with our business. Our rider survey is important because it provides us with a greater understanding of what our riders consider most important to them and what makes them love riding with us.”

“Ireland is a major success story for Deliveroo and we’re excited by this market and its huge potential. We first launched in Dublin in 2015 and since then we’ve grown at pace to expand to other cities including Cork, Galway and Limerick. We will continue to invest in this important and exciting market, and look forward to further growth in the future, delivering world class food to people’s doorsteps.”
