Craft Takes To The Skies as Franciscan Well Now Available on Aer Lingus Flights
Aer Lingus passengers will now be able to enjoy an added taste of Ireland as the leading airline pairs up with the perfect wingman, Franciscan Well, bringing its much-loved Chieftain IPA to travellers on board all European and International routes. Chieftain IPA will be the only Irish beer available on board Aer Lingus flights and passengers can enjoy a 330ml can of the Cork favourite by ordering from Aer Lingus’ on-board Bia menu across all UK, European and Transatlantic routes.
The partnership will see Franciscan Well exposed to international cultures through the more than 12million passengers who fly with Aer Lingus each year to 100 destinations worldwide, and will see distribution soar to international heights, bringing the brewery’s authentic Irish craft heritage further afield than ever before.
With an expanding range of multi-award winning craft beers, a world-renowned brew pub in Cork, which was recently cited as a must-visit destination in the Lonely Planet Global Beer Tour Guide, a purpose-built brewery opened to keep up with ever increasing demand and a new brand identity , Franciscan Well is quickly gaining the attention of beer fans internationally.
The inclusion of Chieftain IPA on European and international Aer Lingus flights in June is enabling this Irish craft brand to spread its wings, bringing a new taste of Ireland to palates around the world.
Commenting on the partnership, founder of Franciscan Well, Shane Long said “It’s great to see Aer Lingus, one of Ireland’s most successful companies embracing the world of craft beer by bringing Chieftain IPA to passengers worldwide. It shows how far Franciscan Well has come since the founding of our small brewery on the site of an ancient Franciscan Monastery and well in Cork in 1998. We hold that brewery heritage and the culture of our craft at the core of everything we do.
This partnership means we have accomplished distribution geographically outreaching what we achieved to date, and we’re confident that Chieftain IPA as one of Ireland’s favourite beers will help strengthen the credibility of indigenous Irish craft on an international stage. As travellers get their hands on the chief of IPA’s over the coming months, we’ll see a positive knock on effect for the Irish craft industry and plenty of satisfied Aer Lingus passengers worldwide.”
Chieftain IPA is a uniquely Irish IPA, full of sweet & tropical aromas with the perfect malt to balance and will be available on all Aer Lingus short-haul and transatlantic flights from 1st June onwards, RRP €5.50.
