Over 100 Overseas Luxury Buyers to Get VIP Treatment
More than one hundred high-end luxury buyers are in Ireland for a three day showcase (21st – 23rd May 2017) of what Ireland has to offer their clients. The buyers represent key luxury travel potential in Mainland Europe, the US, UK as well as markets including China, Cuba, Ecuador, India and the United Arab Emirates. An emerging middle-class in many growing economies is driving significant interest and growth in consumer and luxury travel and Fáilte Ireland is seeking to exploit this trend.
To make this happen, Fáilte Ireland has partnered with ‘Connections’ - a global networking and event organiser exclusively serving senior leaders and experts in luxury, wellness and meetings - to bring these handpicked leaders from the luxury travel industry to Ireland to do business and to discuss the trends and challenges facing the marketplace. The buyers for this particular event have been selected following extensive research and recommendations and represent some of the best companies in the luxury travel market, with luxury travellers spending a minimum three times or more than a leisure visitor.
During their two and a half days in Ireland, some of Ireland’s most unique and bespoke experiences are being recreated in Powerscourt House and Gardens, Co. Wicklow and Dalkey Castle, Co. Dublin so that the buyers can see first-hand the variety of exclusive activities available for their customers in Dublin and Ireland’s Ancient East. Buyers will:
· Hear the Irish Bog Oak Story from renowned sculptor Eamonn Heffernan; · Learn about bespoke tours of Lullymore Heritage Centre where their clients can sample peat infused whiskey, participate in traditional turf cutting, and sample local culinary delights; · Experience fragrance creation with Brooke and Shoals and; · Try a bódhrán taster session with The Bódhrán Buzz.

Speaking about the partnership, Head of Business Development, Fáilte Ireland, Paul Mockler explained –
“Based on recent economic data we know that luxury travel to Ireland is growing faster than conventional tourism and has amazing potential. As countries, such as China for example, enter a new era of luxury travel, newly affluent citizens, who travel all year round, are looking for destinations and experiences to meet their demands. We have partnered with ‘Connections’ this week to ensure that Ireland’s Experience brands can take ownership of some of this growth and develop greater tourism revenue for Ireland.”
