Sommelier at Suesey Street & Number 25 Fitzwilliam Place Introduces Wine Wednesdays
Born in Kenya, Simon Keegan moved back to Ireland in the early 1990’s and began his career in wine at the K Club working as Assistant Sommelier. Afterwards, Simon moved on to the position of Head Sommelier at Peacock Alley in Dublin city centre. Following a period in retail with Berry Brothers fine wine department, Simon moved on to The Four Seasons in 2001 where he held the position of Head Sommelier and assistant restaurant manager for 10 years.
During his time with The Four Seasons Simon represented Ireland in the European Sommelier Competition on 2002 and World Sommelier Competition in 2008 and held the position of President of the Irish Guild of Sommeliers. In 2015 Simon took the position of Head Sommelier and Deputy Manager at Shanahan’s on the Green which he held until his move to Suesey Street and Number 25 Fitzwilliam Place in 2016. Passionate about wine, Simon wants to enthuse and educate guests at Suesey Street about all things wine which is why May sees the start of Wine Wednesdays – a weekly celebration of wine choices at exceptional prices.
