Avril Bowe Joins Walsh’s Bakehouse Team

Walsh’s Bakehouse Waterford is delighted to announce the appointment of Avril Bowe as Sales and Marketing Manager. This is a new role for the company, and is part of a larger expansion plan, currently being rolled out at the long-established Waterford bakery.

Avril joins the team at Walsh’s Bakehouse this month, bringing over 20 years’ experience in hospitality sales and marketing to this iconic Waterford brand. Speaking on her recent appointment, Avril said: “There are very ambitious expansion plans in place for the future of Walsh’s Bakehouse and I look forward to working with Dermot, Michael and all the team growing the product lines. I am also very conscious of how important the history, heritage and providence of the Blaa is, and as a proud Waterford woman, I look forward to being the story teller of this great success story.”

Commenting on her appointment, Joint MD at Walsh’s Bakehouse, Dermot Walsh said: “We are delighted to welcome Avril to the team at such an exciting time for the business. Her experience in hospitality is invaluable and we are in no doubt that she will elevate the Walsh’s Bakehouse brand to a new level, not just locally, but nationally and internationally.” Since attaining the PGI status for the Blaa in 2014, Walsh’s Bakehouse has gone from strength to strength, exporting to the UK, Europe, and Dubai. The expanding range of products, which are being distributed nationwide through a range of leading food services companies, can now be sampled in some of Ireland’s favourite eateries, including Lough Erne Resort, Hatch & Co in Dublin and Bodega Waterford.
