Irish Food Talent Stir Up Italian Flavour At The House Of Peroni

Leading Irish pastry chef, Aoife Noonan, and pizza expert, Michael Ryan, will join the critically-acclaimed Italian chef, Francesco Mazzei, in developing contemporary Italian food menus for The House of Peroni, which makes its eagerly anticipated return to Dublin from Thursday, 25th May to Sunday, 4th June, 2017. The House of Peroni will bring to life Gusto d’Italia, the flavours of Italy, with an exciting food offering that includes daily fresh pasta specials, Neapolitan-style pizza, cicchetti bites, and a few fresh twists on traditional Italian gelato.

Aoife Noonan, who is head pastry chef at the award-winning Dublin restaurant Luna, has collaborated with Francesco Mazzei to create a delectable menu of sweet treats. This includes Italian pistachio cake, stracciatella gelato and a selection of pasticcini, one of which is her famous Luna Rocher, a handmade, Ferrero Rocher-style chocolate delicacy. Michael Ryan will be serving up some of the wood-fired classics from his pizzeria, Dublin Pizza Company, along with a special pizza of the day.

The all-day cicchetti menu of Italian bites was created by Francesco Mazzei himself. Francesco, who was born and raised in Calabria, is chef patron at Sartoria restaurant in London’s Mayfair district. His cicchetti menu includes spicy meatballs, chicken calabrese, Italian salumi and a very unique biscotto di melanzane parmigiana – aubergine parmigiana crispy bread sandwich!

At weekends, The House of Peroni’s brunch menu is served. Brunch includes dishes such as carbonara mac and cheese, smoked fish platter with avocado and soft-boiled egg, soft polenta sausage crumble with quail eggs, and the Italian Job – an Italian take on the Full Irish.To accompany this array of contemporary Italian food, Peroni Nastro Azzurro’s global brand ambassador, Federico Riezzo, has created a drinks menu of Peroni-infused cocktails. Inspired by Italian ingredients, pastimes and memories, this bespoke menu includes Peroni Pegroni, a modern negroni-style cocktail, Peroni Parma, a fruity melon infusion garnished with crispy parma ham, and Peroni Shakerato, a decaf Italian take on the Espresso Martini. As always, Peroni Nastro Azzurro will be served, along with Peroni Gluten Free. The Peroni infusions can also be made gluten free on request.

The House of Peroni is open to the public at 1 Dame Lane, Dublin 2 from Thursday, 25th May until Sunday 4th June, 2017.
