Mount Juliet Estate is delighted to announce that Chef Cormac McCreary has been appointed as Executive Chef of Mount Juliet Estate. The appointment comes at a very exciting time for the five-star destination which will host the 2021 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open this July. McCreary trained under distinguished Head Chef John Williams at The Ritz London and prior to his Mount Juliet Estate appointment, Cormac was the Executive Chef at the five-star Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare.

Executive Chef Cormac will oversee the culinary offerings at the five-star Hunters Yard Hotel which is home to The Hound Restaurant which has won numerous accolades including a Michelin Plate and two AA Rosettes. A favourite among guests, locals and golfers for its relaxed and contemporary vibe, The Hound Restaurant will see some tantalising new additions to the menu under Cormac’s command including an array of mouth-watering steak options from the new Montague Grill, as well delicious starters, desserts, and sides. Not only that, a new drinks menu with interesting and novel craft beers and new world wines will also be introduced for guests to enjoy.

Cormac will also turn his attention to creating a contemporary Afternoon Tea that can be enjoyed in The Conservatory at The Hound. To complement this, he is currently developing a new lunch menu that will feature light bites and small plates for lunchtime dining, as always made using the finest ingredients from specialist local producers.

The Estate is excited to develop its outdoor Al Fresco offerings this year and along-side the new Terrace menu which will also be available in the Courtyard, guests and locals will also have the opportunity to explore the Estate’s grounds with signature picnic baskets.

Chef Cormac will also bring his culinary expertise to the banqueting and wedding menus, the Mount Juliet Golf Clubhouse, Hunter’s Yard Conservatory, Terrace, and private dining.

Speaking on his appointment, Executive Chef Cormac said: “I am delighted to be appointed Executive Chef of Mount Juliet Estate and am looking forward to implementing new menus and dining experiences with the fantastic team here. We will keep the essence of relaxed dining without compromise on style or quality, which makes dining at Mount Juliet Estate a special experience.’’
